The New Brunswick Federation of Labour (NBFL) reaches a tentative agreement with Unifor, the union that represents the NBFL staff.
“I am pleased to announce the NBFL bargaining committee has reached a tentative agreement with Unifor local 4501. The tentative agreement includes real wage increases, above the cost of living, for our staff,” says Daniel Legere, President of the New Brunswick Federation of Labour. “Investing in our staff is a priority for the NBFL. Our organization wants to lead by example. I call on all employers to invest in their workers by providing them with real wage increases above the cost of living. Otherwise, workers fall further and further behind and incur debt just to make ends meet.”
Details of the settlement will only be made public pending its ratification by the New Brunswick Federation of Labour Executive Council, later this month.
“It is refreshing to negotiate with an employer who values providing wage increases that go beyond the cost of living,” says Kim Power, Unifor National Representative, “I wish more employers would do the same.”
